Install Bootloader

what you need

• SD card
• SDG bootloader ROM files

then follow the instructions in handhelds.org section Install the SDG bootloader.

Install Linux

what you need

• CF card

• files from http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/images/hx4700/

  • reflash.ctl
  • zImage-xxxx
  • xxxx-hx4700.rootfs.jffs2

then follow the instructions in handhelds.org section Flash Linux onto the device

after you flash linux into the device, first time boot takes more than a couple of minutes, so be patient and wait.

After the Installation

To enable wlan0 for WiFi:

• modprobe acx
• modprobe hx4700_acx

If you experience problems with WiFi after suspending the device disable wlan0 before suspending (e.g., in /etc/apm/suspend.d):

• rmmod hx4700_acx acx
